JOB DESCRIPTION:

HR Project Partners Inc. is currently accepting resumes from interested candidates with 3-5 years’ experience in training management and have knowledge and understanding of HSE polices and have effective leadership skills.

Davie has built, converted, repaired and upgraded almost every form of vessel, rig and offshore platform including tankers, bulk carriers, containerships, fishing vessels, ferries, naval vessels and jack-up and semi-submersible drilling and production platforms.

With its strong engineering disciplines and fully integrated, self-sufficient fabrication facilities, Davie’s versatility has enabled it to leverage the best practices and transferable skills acquired from two centuries of shipbuilding to provide products and services for industries including natural resources, rail, hydro-electric and nuclear power, defence and more.

This position is located in Quebec City, QC. Relocation is required for non-local candidates. Candidates must be bilingual in English and French or fluent in French, please submit resumes in both English and French.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
In order to carry out his/her duties, the holder of this position is in charge of training activities given by Chantier Davie Canada Inc. (Davie). He/she coordinates all activities linked to the training department and works to develop training courses according to Davie’s needs.
Responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to the following:

Health, Safety & Environment
• Ensure that you understand the importance of Davie’s workplace culture in regards to HSE and provide your team with the necessary leadership to foster that culture within their everyday activities;
• Continually promote HSE awareness within your team and the corporation by leading by example and providing instruction, information, training and supervision to ensure the safe performance of technicians, technologists and engineers, and all other employees involved in your daily operations;
• Resolve any HSE issues brought to your attention in a timely manner and notify the HSE team of the issue immediately;
• Respond appropriately to any violations of the HSE policy and notify the HSE team of the issue immediately;
• Ensure that Davie’s environmental policies are respected in all construction and repair projects;
• Ensure the security of estimating department facilities and equipment, and institute policies that will prevent or minimize loss, theft, vandalism or other damage.

Managing HSE Training and Skill Development Needs
• Evaluate, plan, organize, coordinate and control the activities of Davie’s Training Department (tasks: planning the training calendar, distribution, evaluation and training budget management);
• Coordinate logistics: trainer (internal/external – bid – P.O.) – local, audio-visual equipment, equipment and accessories coming from the shipyard and list of workers to train – management of schedules/attendance sheets;
• Provide daily assistance to supervisors, zone managers, foremen and department directors as required in order to ensure daily training activities with efficiency;
• Ensure that document control associated with training is always up to date and precise in the GRHU-KRONOS system, attendance sheet archives, the training budget and the Declaration of Training Activities (1% Law);
• Ensure the respect of procedures agreed upon for planning, organizing and carrying out all operations linked with quality systems within Davie.

Human Resources Development Management – Technical and Relational Skills
• Influence the team of supervisors (foremen-directors) in such a way as for their workers to be motivated, satisfied, loyal and effective people who are committed to achieving the standards and the goals of the department as well as the company in general;
• Ensure that all supervisors (foremen-directors) receive a development plan in order to have the skills necessary to effectively fulfill their role and responsibilities, work in a safe way and with a spirit of co-operation while following the standardized operational procedures that were agreed upon.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor of Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field and/or equivalent experience with ongoing professional development;
• 3 to 5 years of experience in training management.

• Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
• Language: French is required \ English is considered an asset; Bilingual in English and French is also considered an asset.

LES RESPONSABILITÉS DE CE POSTE INCLUENT:
Santé, sécurité et environnement
• S’assurer de comprendre l’importance de la culture de travail de Davie à ce qui a trait à la SST et donner le soutien nécessaire à son équipe pour promouvoir cette culture dans leurs activités quotidiennes;
• Promouvoir continuellement la culture SST dans son équipe et dans l’entreprise en général en montrant l’exemple et en fournissant les instructions, les informations, les formations et la supervision nécessaire à l’accomplissement sécuritaire des tâches des techniciens, technologues et ingénieurs, et de tous les autres employés qui ont un rôle à jouer dans les opérations quotidiennes;
• Résoudre aussi vite que possible les questions de SST qui sont portées à son attention et aviser l’équipe SST des problèmes sans délai;
• Réagir de manière appropriée aux infractions à la politique SST et en aviser immédiatement l’équipe SST;
• S’assurer que les règles de Davie concernant l’environnement sont respectées dans tous les projets de construction et de reparation;
• Assurer la sécurité des installations et des équipements du département d’estimation et mettre en place des politiques qui auront l’objectif de minimiser les pertes, le vol, le vandalisme et autres dommages.

Gestion des besoins de formation en SST et en développement des compétences
• Évaluer, planifier, organiser, coordonner et contrôler les activités du Service de Formation du CDCI. (tâches : planification du calendrier de formation, diffusion, évaluation et gestion du budget de formation);
• Coordonner la logistique; Formateur (Interne / Externe – Soumission – P.O.) – Local, Équipements audio-visuel, Équipements et Accessoires provenant du Chantier et liste des travailleurs à former – gestion des grilles horaire/feuilles de presences;
• Fournir une assistance quotidienne aux Superviseurs; Chefs de Zone, Contremaîtres et Directeurs de services tel que requis pour assurer avec efficacité les activités quotidiennes de formation;
• Faire en sorte que le contrôle des documents associés à la Formation soit à jour et précis en tout temps dans le système GRHU-KRONOS, l’archivage des feuilles de présences, le budget de formation et la Déclaration des activités de formation (Loi du 1 %);
• S’assurer du respect des procédures ayant été convenues pour la planification, l’organisation et la réalisation de toutes les opérations en lien avec les Systèmes de la qualité au sein du CDCI.

Gestion en développement des ressources humaines – Compétences techniques et relationnelles
• Influencer l’équipe de Superviseurs (Contremaître-Directeurs) de manière à ce que leurs travailleurs soient des gens motivés, satisfaits, loyaux et efficaces dans l’atteinte des normes et des objectifs du département et de la compagnie en general;
• S’assurer que tous les Superviseurs (Contremaîtres-Directeurs) reçoivent un plan de développement afin qu’ils possèdent les habiletés nécessaires pour remplir efficacement leur fonction et leurs responsabilités, travailler de manière sécuritaire et en coopération tout en respectant les procédures opérationnelles normalisées convenues.

LES CAPACITÉS ET LES CONNAISSANCES REQUISES:
• Expérience de 3 à 5 ans en gestion de la formation;
• Scolarité complétée dans un domaine pertinent de niveau Baccalauréat;
• Bonnes capacités de communication écrite et verbale;
• Bonne maîtrise de la suite Microsoft Office;
• Posséder la capacité de travailler de façon efficace avec des clients et/ou d’autres groupes / départements.
