HR Project Partners is currently accepting resumes for Industrial/Mechanical Engineering Technologists: Co-op Students/New Grads on behalf of one of our Clients. HR Project Partners Inc. is currently accepting resumes from interested candidates who are New Grads or are currently enrolled in the Industrial or Mechanical Engineering Program.

HRPP is currently recruiting for its client, Tata Steel Minerals Canada Limited (TSMC) operation located in Eastern Canada – Labrador, NL.  TSMC is part of the Tata Steel Group of companies which is a Fortune 500 Company and is among the top 10 producers of steel in the world.  TSMC is the product of a joint venture between Tata Steel (77.68%) of India, New Millennium (4.32%), a publicly owned Canadian mining company and the Government of Quebec (18%). TSMC DSO Project includes mining operations from several iron ore mine deposits and dry processing plant facilities in Newfoundland and Labrador near the town of Schefferville, QC.

This position is located in Schefferville, QC. This position is from September to December with a possibility of an extension for New Grads. This is a remote work site and fly-in/fly-out on a 2 weeks on/2 weeks off schedule working 12 hours per day.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Track procurement process as per maintenance requirements;
  • Work with trade workers, supervisors, procurement clerks, buyers and accounts payable for tracking of parts;
  • Insert parts data by inputting text based and numerical information from source documents within time limits;
  • Compile, verify accuracy and sort information according to priorities to prepare parts tracking documents;
  • Review data for deficiencies or errors, correct any incompatibilities if possible and check output;
  • Research and obtain further information for incomplete documents;
  • Generate reports, store completed work in designated locations and perform backup operations;
  • Scan documents and print files, when needed;
  • Respond to queries for information and access relevant files;
  • Data entry in Microsoft Excel.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Students currently enrolled in the Industrial or Mechanical Engineering Program; or
  • Industrial or Mechanical Engineering Technologist new grad.

Knowledge, Skills, & Attributes:

  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to work independently with little direction;
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to forecast, analyze and work under pressure;
  • Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities;
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • Language: English is required/French is considered an asset.
