Job Description:

HR Project Partners is currently accepting resumes for an IT Technician (Windows Upgrade) on behalf of one of our Clients.

Our client is looking for IT Technicians with experience to assist with Windows 7 to Windows 10 upgrades. The goal is to prepare, image and install appropriate software on Windows 10 PC’s, then meet with customers across the business for replacement.

This position is located in Labrador City, NL. Relocation for duration (3 months with possibility of an extension) of project required for non-local candidates.

Essential Job Functions:

The IT Technician (Windows Update) will be responsible for:

  • Assisting with Windows upgrades – from Windows 7 to Windows 10 on hundreds of PC’s;
  • Preparing, imaging, and installing Window’s 10, while meeting with customers across the business for replacement;
  • Asset disposal and ensure Inventory Assets Management system is always up to date;
  • Maintain proper records of issue and maintenance of software;
  • Keep proper maintenance and record updates for License Software inventory;
  • Be customer focused while adhering to company policy and be able to provide ad-hoc support to the departments and various individuals as needed; and
  • Assist in creating reports, and presentations for the IT department, as needed.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in the field of Computer Science, Information Technology, or Management Information Systems;
  • Previous knowledge and working experience in upgrading Windows 7 to Windows 10; and
  • 5 years minimum relevant IT experience with strong analysis and technical problem-solving abilities.

Knowledge, Skills, & Attributes:

  • Good knowledge of Windows7/8/10, Windows Server 2008/2012, Active Directory and CISCO networking;
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to work independently with little direction;
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to forecast, analyze and work under pressure;
  • Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities; and
  • Bilingualism is considered an asset.
