PROCESS PLANT MECHANICAL SUPERVISOR

JOB DESCRIPTION:
HR Project Partners is currently accepting resumes for a Process Plant Mechanical Supervisor on behalf of our client, Calibre, Valentine Gold Mine. The ideal candidate would have a minimum of 10 years’ overall experience in a maintenance environment; including 5 years’ leadership experience in a heavy industrial or processing environment.

Reporting to the Process Plant Mechanical Superintendent, the Process Plant Mechanical Supervisor is responsible for the safe and effective supervision of a crew responsible for planning, and servicing of process plant equipment and repairs. This role will execute the day-to-day safe work of the maintenance personnel and be a liaison between operations, planning and work execution, and develop and enhance a work environment that motivates employees to achieve exceptional performance.

This position is located at the Project site, working on a 14 days in/14 days out rotation.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Lead and empower employees in achieving operating targets and improve employee work performance and efficiency through mentorship, coaching, and feedback.
  • Supervise and develop a safe and efficient maintenance team to meet maintenance schedules and production targets.
  • Manage, monitor, and adhere to the approved maintenance work management program by ensuring compliance to planned and scheduled work orders.
  • Allocate maintenance coverage for breakdowns.
  • Participate, investigate, and resolve on the job issues (with regards to planned maintenance activities, maintenance shutdowns, etc.)
  • Interface with Planners and Operations to assist in planning and scheduling of work.
  • Control non-standard maintenance situations with immediate actions and proactively scan the maintenance operation for improvements.
  • Provide effective care, maintenance, and utilization of assets.
  • Focus on achieving the daily and weekly work plan and contribute to the development of monthly and quarterly plans.
  • Maintains compliance and ensures adherence to policies, procedures, legislation, and regulations pertaining to the mining industry.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • A relevant certified trade or Technician’s diploma is required.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ overall experience in a maintenance environment; including 5 years’ leadership experience in a heavy industrial or processing environment.
  • Experience working in a remote industrial environment is preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license and a driver’s abstract required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ATTRIBUTES:

  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental requirements at remote sites.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance processes is required.
  • Development, coaching, and training coordination of all direct reports to help the team succeed.
  • Strong knowledge of the OHS, mining, and construction regulations.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong computer skills with competence using Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to influence and inspire others and manage cross-functional relationships.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Maintenance systems, processes, and fixed plant facilities.
  • Ability to quickly evaluate complex issues and identify resolutions.
  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • Experience in the maintenance and repair of mechanical or electrical equipment.
  • Experience in dealing with contract services and manufacturer representatives.
  • Ability to influence and inspire others and manage cross-functional relationships.

Calibre Mining Corporation is engaged in the exploration and development of the Valentine Gold Project (the “Project”) located in the central region of Newfoundland and Labrador.
