HR Project Partners is currently accepting resumes for a Reliability Engineer on behalf of one of our clients. The ideal candidate would have experience in a mining environment.

This position is in Northern Canada. This is a permanent position with 3 on/3 off rotation.

Essential Job Functions:

Reporting to Reliability Manager. Maintenance Engineer will provide technical support to ensure reliable sustainable and cost-effective production utilizing predictive methodologies and technologies to ensure asset reliability and capability to meet the operational objectives.  Monitor and evaluate functionality of department assets and liabilities to identify operational and maintenance requirements.

  • Support the promotion of a safe workplace and a health & safety program.
  • Support Maintenance and Operations through priorities set by management.
  • Provide engineering leadership for site-based projects and modifications to existing equipment.
  • Support the operation to develop Predicative, Proactive, and Condition Based maintenance programs to support operational capacity.
  • Interaction with department maintenance and operations personnel to review and resolve equipment process issues.
  • Troubleshoot repetitive maintenance failures to improve asset efficiency as assigned.
  • Interact with personnel and assist in the field start-up of equipment, providing specialized technical knowledge and ability.
  • Evaluate the adequacy of engineering designs by others to ensure it complies with department, corporate and operational process requirements.
  • Monitor department machinery to ensure equipment functions as designed to result in maximum equipment reliability and operating efficiency.
  • Assist the Maintenance Planners and Supervisors to plan repairs, modifications, and improvements to equipment.
  • Support the development of department capital budget by ascertaining current and future needs.
  • Identify and communicate area maintenance priorities and support the effective execution of maintenance shutdowns.
  • Provide detailed scope and design for all approved maintenance work.
  • Support tradesmen by providing guidance and coaching when requested.
  • Focus upon process improvements to enhance productivity, increase revenue, enhance safety, and reduce cost, consistent with the strategic direction of the company.
  • Interface effectively with purchasing and warehouse to identify equipment specifications and delivery requirements.
  • Act as a change agent to instill an operational excellence, performance improvement culture throughout the organization.
  • Develop equipment and component standards and performance requirements as required.
  • Support the effective implementation and adherence to plant wide standard operating procedures and practices.
  • Monitor department machinery to ensure equipment functions as designed to result in maximum equipment reliability and operating efficiency.
  • Remain current with new technology and maintenance methods.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred
  • 3-5 years of mining experience
  • 5-7 years of experience in mobile equipment and asset management

Knowledge, Skills, & Attributes:

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite required
  • Experience using SAP maintenance module and PI Processbook required
  • Experience running projects in a mining environment beneficial
  • Experience in maintenance or reliability engineering
  • experience in operations and/or maintenance is required
  • Experience with developing and reviewing process methodology and tools
  • Experience in open pit mining preferred, Arctic experience beneficial
  • Strategic thinking and understanding of critical issues related to mining
