Job Description:

HR Project Partners is currently accepting resumes for a Senior Advisor Project Controls on behalf of one of our clients. The ideal candidate would have experience in Project Controls.

This position is in Northwest Territories with our client Diavik Diamond Mine. The duration of this position is one (1) year with the possibility of extension.  This is a fly-in/fly-out opportunity, with a 12 hours per day shift, on a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation.

Essential Job Functions:

Reporting to the Manager, Infrastructure and Project and working in a challenging and exciting environment. Your duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Creation, maintenance and reporting on the project plan and schedule
  • Lead project schedule review meetings and update schedules
  • Implement cost control, cost forecasting, change management and cost analysis of projects. Support the Capital appropriation requests. Develop project cost estimates
  • Support compliance with standardized processes, systems Operation of project controls software and tools (Primavera and Prism)
  • Develops and contributes to the project controls guidance and protocols
  • Lead cost estimating and scenario evaluation for closure activities and planning
  • Lead the development of monthly schedule and cost reports, including proper analysis
  • Maintain the project productivity and cost rate reports
  • Maintain the relationship with contracting and other project planning stakeholders
  • Collaborate with the construction and engineering groups to ensure that implications of changes are well articulated

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • College diploma or university degree in a related discipline
  • Must have a minimum of 10 years of experience
  • Previous experience working in an industrial construction project setting is preferred
  • Mining industry or Heavy Earthworks experience is an asset

Knowledge, Skills, & Attributes:

  • Strong working knowledge of Enterprise Planning Resource systems (e.g., SAP)
  • Strong operational knowledge of Project Control Systems (PRISM G2, Primavera P6, Power BI)
  • Knowledge of, planning, forecasting, cost estimate, cost control and reporting
  • In-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting
  • Proven ability to research, compare and analyze voluminous and complex management and financial information
  • Strong planning, organizational and communications skills
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office tools
