HR Project Partners is currently accepting resumes for a Surveyor on behalf of our client, Calibre, Valentine Gold Mine. The ideal candidate would have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role in an industrial/mining setting.

The Surveyor is responsible to provide accurate, viable surveying solutions to the operations team and ensure best practices are followed for all surveying field activities. The incumbent will require strong attention to detail and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks.

This position is located at the Project site, working on a 14 days in/14 days out rotation.

  • Demonstrates leadership in Health, Safety and Environment through personal behaviors and conversations.

  • Actively participate in and help lead site safety initiatives.
  • Provide accurate and viable survey support to the operations team.
  • Use best practice survey control methods and procedures for any survey related field activities.
  • Ensure all work performed is documented and recorded accurately.
  • Assist in field staking.
  • Perform survey data collection and volume calculations.
  • Assist with the design of mine access, drill, and blast patterns.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


  • Diploma in; Civil Engineering Technology, Geomatics Technology, or Surveying Engineering Technology or a related field.
  • A minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role in an industrial/mining setting.
  • Experience working in a remote mining or industrial setting is an asset.


  • A strong work ethic and positive attitude.
  • Knowledge of the proper use and care of survey instruments & equipment.
  • Excellent knowledge of drilling and blasting regulatory requirements.
  • A strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships.
  • Team leader, problem solver and excellent oral and written communication skills required.
  • Ability to work outside in varied weather conditions for extended periods of time required.
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the role.
  • A valid driver’s license and drivers abstract required.

Calibre Mining Corporation is engaged in the exploration and development of the Valentine Gold Project (the “Project”) located in the central region of Newfoundland and Labrador. Once in production, it will be the largest gold mine in Atlantic Canada and a major employer in the province.
